Prototyping New Futures of Work

McCann Worldgroup was navigating a seismic moment: the aftershocks of Covid-19, accelerating AI, and a global creative workforce asking what work could mean. The company needed a new talent strategy — not just cosmetic policy updates, but a ground-up reimagining.
Over six months, I partnered with the Global Chief Talent Officer Cindy Augustine to lead a co-creation process with cross-functional internal leaders and external experts from the burgeoning web3 and technology industries. We mapped signals of change, scenario-planned ten years out and backcasted what future possibilities are already asking of us today. We grounded the work with concrete prototypes, ranging from intellectual property agreements to new models of career growth. We tied the entire arc together with a "creator value proposition" that reframes an operating model that centers individual self-expression, mutual care, and collective flourishing.
The resulting strategy was co-presented with the company's top leadership in a global roadshow. Colleagues described the process as creating conditions for thoughts that wouldn't have otherwise been thinkable. One said she left every session "with a full heart and an inspired mind."
From privacy to longevity, I explore five future scenarios in my article published in Fast Company.
